Baby Diamonds Blanket by Jeanne Steinhilber
Baby Diamonds Blanket by Jeanne Steinhilber

The Crochet Baby Diamonds Blanket is the perfect weight gift for spring and summer babies. It's very light and airy, making it ideal for swaddling your newborn.

This pattern was revised with stitch count corrections in 2 rounds of instructions on February 17, 2025.

I mashed together a little Modern Granny with Filet Crochet. I used Stitch Fiddle to lay out my rows.  It's a nifty website and fun to play with the grids.  To keep the blanket light, I used Bernat® Baby Sport™ yarn in the big balls, but only used just over half of each one.  If you'd like, you will have plenty of yarn left over to make matching booties or hats.

Hello, I'm having an issue with row 10, where the stitch count seems to be off and the diamond pattern doesn't line up. I redid row 9 and made sure to double count to make sure it had the right number of stitches before moving on to 10, but I am still having the same issue. Tips?

I will have a download available to you in about 15 minutes. I am updating the article. I have generated a crochet diagram for you that you will see on the article from Rnds 7 to 12. Hopefully this helps you to visualize the stitch locations.
